De Buyer's iconic Mineral B carbon steel frying pan is beloved by chefs and home cooks for the way it sears ingredients to perfection, from steaks to pan-roasted vegetables. It is made to last forever, only getting better (and more stick-resistant) with time.

    ---DETAILS---

The Mineral B Frying Pan from De Buyer is designed to reach the high temperatures which are ideal for searing, browning and grilling. These heavy iron pans are very durable, and only improve with time thanks to a natural easy-release layer of 'seasoning' that develops over time as you cook in the pan. You'll know how well-seasoned this pan is based on the colour: It will go from grey to black. When manufactured, it is treated with organic beeswax, which protects the pan from oxidation in transit—this needs to be removed by you prior to use, as it kickstarts the seasoning process. (To learn how to do that, click . It's very easy!) The handle stays cool as you cook on the hob, making it easier to manoeuvre. This pan is oven-safe for up to 10 minutes at 200°C; anything longer or hotter may risk discolouring the handle. This pan can be used on all hobs including induction. It can be used on open barbecues (not covered barbecues like the Big Green Egg, unless the top is open).

Carbon steel is very unique, and thus requires different cleaning and maintenance requirements. Read all about the process, and why it's worth it, in our .

    ---BENEFITS---

'This pan is nothing short of magical. If you're new to carbon steel or cast iron, it does take some getting used to, but once you've developed a layer of seasoning—and the best way to do that is to simply cook in it—you'll see it's completely worth it.'
