Detail
Handcrafted in France with century-old traditions and sustainable practices, this pitcher with subtly irregular edges, from Jars’ Maguelone range, is ideal for entertaining at home. The versatile shape makes it suitable for serving water, soft drinks, sauces, and more. ---DETAILS---
Though Jars Ceramistes is a family-run company that’s been around since 1857, their tableware is perfectly suited to contemporary needs. Their ceramics are very hard-wearing, able to resist cracks, fading, and the stress of dishwashers and microwaves. This is a result of an energy-saving manufacturing process that fires only once at 1285°C rather than the standard three times. Jars factories also recycle all the water and heat used in production, keeping waste and pollution to an absolute minimum. This 750ml pitcher from the Maguelone range has a slightly irregular round shape that has a windswept look. This pattern has been designed exclusively for Borough Kitchen.
This piece can be pre-heated in a low oven (max 150°C) from room temperature. It should not be used for cooking. Over 200°C and in particular when using oil, the crackled-effect glaze can ‘open’ and may let colours of cooked foods in, therefore making it impossible to remove.
---BENEFITS--- ‘Restaurants love Jars ceramics because they can go through the dishwasher multiple times a day but still maintain their lustre—and they look lovely when mixed with multiple colours from a range.’
