Lodge Dutch Oven with Loop Handles
-
Detail
A heavy-duty cast iron Dutch oven, also known as a casserole or cocotte, excellent for low-and-slow cooking, bread baking, and more.
---DETAILS---
Lodge, America’s oldest cast iron manufacturer, is recognised around the world for their reliable, virtually indestructible cast iron products. Cast iron is prized for its ability to get extremely hot and retain that heat, resulting in gorgeously browned foods. It’s an excellent material for deep frying, as cast iron helps keep heat constant. It can go on all hobs including induction, in ovens, and on the barbecue. Over time, cast iron builds a top layer, or ‘patina’, that makes it stick-resistant; this requires a little extra care (instructions below). This Dutch oven, also known as a casserole or cocotte, is a versatile pot that can be used for making stews, baking bread, and so much more. The lid ensures food stays moist and well-basted during cooking, and has a thin loop handle that makes it easier to lift when wearing gloves or using a tea towel. Like all cast iron cookware, it requires a bit of special attention to clean and maintain; read instructions on how to do that .
Note: Because Lodge pans are made using a traditional sand-moulding technique and undergo pre-seasoning before reaching you, there may be minor cosmetic imperfections such as pinholes or smudges on the surface. These are considered normal and do not affect the performance of the pans.
---BENEFITS---
'This pot only gets better with time—even if you lose some of that patina, it’s easy to restore.'
