A magnificent reissue of the original Peugeot mill created in 1874, this collector’s edition salt mill is clad entirely in silver.

    ---DETAILS---

The French company Peugeot may be most commonly associated with cars, but they actually made spice mills first, far back in 1874. In the 146 years since, no other salt and pepper mills stay as sharp, resist corrosion as well, and last as long, which is why nobody in the culinary industry would hesitate to call them ‘iconic’. Salt, unlike pepper, can corrode metal if it absorbs too much moisture. That’s why most salt mill blades are made from less durable ceramic. Not Peugeot’s, which are made from rust-resistant 18/10 stainless steel so it lasts just as long as the company’s famous pepper grinders. The Mignonnette Silver Salt Mill, ideal for collectors, is plated entirely in silver and designed to look like Peugeot’s very first mill. A matching is available for purchase separately.

Note: Salt mills are intended to grind large crystals of salt; small particles of salt or sea salt flakes, like Maldon or Cornish, will get stuck in the mechanism.

    ---BENEFITS---

'Any fine dining restaurant worth its salt has a Peugeot mill. Expertly crafted inside and out, these grinders seem to "wake up" pepper and salt just before it reaches your plate.'
