This electric raclette ‘oven’ from Swiss company Spring works by warming a large rectangle of cheese (up to 17.5 x 7.5 x 11 cm) from above, so it can be swivelled, inclined, and scraped directly onto a dish of potatoes or bread. It has an ultra-stable base and brushed stainless steel finish. The cheese rest is height adjustable, swivels full circle, and is easy to tilt by gently turning a knob. Secure hooks prevent the cheese from sliding off the rest. The heating element simultaneously warms the small, integrated grill plate, so that area can be used to grill ingredients to serve alongside a hearty portion of raclette—baguette slices, mushrooms, zucchini or halved figs, to name a few. Its temperature can be regulated with an intuitive dial that can be set between low and high. It comes with a stainless steel spatula that’s straight on one side and serrated on the other for easy, efficient scraping.
