Peugeot Paris Pepper Mill / Antique

Detail
The Paris Pepper Mill is Peugeot’s most recognisable design. The simple and classic form features the company’s centuries-old grinding mechanism.
---DETAILS--- The French company Peugeot may be most commonly associated with cars, but they actually made spice mills first, far back in 1874. In the 146 years since, no other salt and pepper mills stay as sharp, resist corrosion as well, and last as long, which is why nobody in the culinary industry would hesitate to call them ‘iconic’. The grinding mechanism in the Paris Pepper Mill is made from hardened steel so it can withstand the stress of grinding tougher peppercorns without shedding some of its own metal along with it. It is helix-shaped, so peppercorns wait their turn before being cracked in half and further ground. The knob located on the top of the mill, with an aged appearance and marked with the lion’s head, is used to adjust the grind of the pepper. The Antique finish is made from beechwood selected with great care from European forests. It's then worked by hand to create the delicate patina and aged effects, which lend a vintage charm to your table.
---BENEFITS--- ‘Any fine dining restaurant worth its salt (excuse the pun) has a Peugeot mill. Expertly crafted inside and out, these grinders seem to “wake up” pepper and salt just before it reaches your plate.’
